Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp at the YMCA gives kids a safe, fun, and engaging place to spend their summer while building confidence, friendships, and independence along the way. Camp offers a full summer of activities that keep children active, creative, and connected.

Each week includes a variety of experiences such as swimming, outdoor play, gym time, games, crafts, hands-on projects, and activities built around fun weekly themes. Campers have the opportunity to explore new interests, try new things, and enjoy memorable summer moments with their peers.

Our YMCA counselors create a welcoming environment where every child is encouraged, supported, and included. With a focus on character, kindness, responsibility, and respect, Summer Day Camp helps children grow socially, emotionally, and physically while giving families a dependable care option during the summer months.

Decatur County Family YMCA

Summer Day Camp is available at the Decatur County Family YMCA for both preschool and school age campers.

Preschool Camp, ages 3–5, is designed with younger campers in mind, offering age-appropriate activities, play, creativity, and opportunities to build confidence in a caring environment. Lunch & snacks are provided throughout the day for campers.

School Age Camp, ages 5–12, gives older campers a full summer experience with swimming, outdoor play, sports, crafts, games, weekly themes, and plenty of opportunities to stay active and make friends. Campers will need to bring their own lunch, but snacks are provided throughout the day.

Shelby County YMCA

Summer Day Camp options are also available through the Shelby County YMCA and take place at the Julia & Nicholas Runnebohm Early Learning Center. This location offers children a safe, supportive, and engaging environment to stay active, make friends, and enjoy summer programming through the Y. Additional paper work will need to be completed at the facility.
